Default Collection

Password Manager v5.x automatically collects and transmits the following data, some of which may be considered personal data in certain jurisdictions, after installing/enabling the product. It is necessary to collect this data to provide the security functions on this product. Therefore, you cannot disable these features. If you do not want Trend Micro to access this data, you should uninstall and stop using the product.

Account and License

DESCRIPTION

This data is collected to identify customer accounts for support purposes.

If the user does not want Password Manager to collect this data, the user should NOT sign in, and they should NOT create a Trend Micro Account when using Password Manager.

Cloud Sync

Password Manager main console, browser extension, and web portal

DESCRIPTION

This data is collected to improve usability and customer experience.

When a user visits Password Manager’s main console, the browser extension UI, or the web portal, the Password Manager console URL and the client IP will be transmitted to the Trend Micro backend.

If the user does not want this data to be collected, do not connect to Password Manager main console, and uninstall the application from the device.

Configurable Features

Password Manager v5.x includes the following features, which may collect and transmit the following data, some of which may be considered personal in certain jurisdictions, to Trend Micro. You can disable any of these features at any time to prevent the corresponding data from being sent to Trend Micro.

Password recording / retrieval

DESCRIPTION

This data is collected to improve usability and customer experience.

When a user pulls up their password when visiting a website, Password Manager will transmit that website URL to the Trend Micro backend.

To opt-out, the user should uncheck the Help make Password Manager better box in the Settings page prior to the above action.

Password recording

DESCRIPTION

This data is collected to improve usability and customer experience.

If the user does not want Password Manager to collect their encrypted data, the user should NOT click the Save Now button when the dialog appears, and they should close this dialog box.
